Snowdonia is a region in north west Wales mainly made up of mountains and Snowdonia National Park. There are a multitude of trails in the park, both easy and rugged as well as over 100 lakes. There are so many activities to choose from, including mountaineering, climbing, boat trips, wildlife cruises, museums, parks. If you stay for a month it wouldn’t be long enough! One of the most popular attractions, the Snowdon Mountain Railway climbs up to the summit of Wales’s highest peak, Mount Snowdon, and from there you can see the spectacular views across to Ireland. Head over to neighbouring Anglesey, an island with lots of amazing walks and places to visit, and if you prefer a more coastal feel the area has miles of coastland as well. The picture perfect town of Portmeirion is on your doorstep with its imposing romantic Italian-style architecture and spectacular views from the cliff tops. Visit the ruins of 6th century monasteries and Neolithic circles on Bardsey Island, and look out for seals and dolphins in the waters below.
