Set in the heart of the Lake District, this elegant home has been transformed into a stylish and spacious venue for memorable getaways.

Situated near the north east shores of Coniston Water, this property offers easy access to the many areas of shoreline open to the public. During your stay, guests are also welcome to make use of the private lake frontage owned by the nearby estate. East of the lake is Grizedale Forest, where you will find wonderful woodland trails for both walking and cycling. The nearby village of Coniston boasts a selection of shops, cafes and inns, ideal for stocking up on supplies or enjoying a hearty meal after a long walk.

The front door opens into a welcoming sitting room, which features original sash windows and wooden floorboards covered by cosy rugs. This light and airy room offers plenty of seating for all guests to relax together, whether that’s beside the wood burner at one end of the room or the open fire at the other. From here, step down into the grand dining room, where a long rustic table sets the scene for memorable candlelit dinners. To the other side of a small lobby is the spacious kitchen, which boasts under floor heating, a small breakfast table, range oven and windows and a door that open onto the garden, flooding the room with light. From the sitting room, stairs lead up to the first floor, where all seven bedrooms are located. One beautifully decorated double bedroom boasts a stylish tiled alcove housing a magnificent copper bath, while the three other double bedrooms all benefit from en-suite bath or shower rooms. There is also an en-suite twin bedroom as well as two bunk bedrooms that share a small shower room, perfect for younger guests.

Outside, the sunny garden sits to the front of the house and is bordered by a delightful dry stone wall and beautifully stocked beds. With a view to the Coniston mountain range, this is an idyllic spot for enjoying summer lunches or afternoon lawn games.

Let the Lake District lure you in with its crags and grandeur, it's truly worthy of its UNESCO World Heritage Site recognition. Coniston Water, the village and the Old Man are three icons of the Lake District. Set in the very heart of the national park, this area has been a long-time favourite for walkers and climbers, along with those that prefer a gentler, more relaxed holiday. Coniston Boating Centre is the place to hire boats and kayaks, a great group activity and unrivalled way to explore the serenity of The Lakes. This is a lovely comfy old property and great fun for small children to explore. It has the potential to be an exceptional property but the management of the property would need to improve. Lightbulbs out, no soap in any of the dispensers, blocked bedroom sink etc. Isnt what you expect to find when you arrive for a family weekend away.

A perfect location with access to the lake. The seven bedrooms were clean and comfortable with ample showers and toilets for 14 people. There was plenty of hot water and every convenience in the kitchen and dining room had been considered. Our group ranged in age from 5 to 79.

Beautiful location and full of character, requires a little maintenance to solve some issues. Two rooms have only bunk beds and the top bedroom has little head clearance above the bed. Kitchen is cosy and fully equipped and lovely lounge area to relax in.

Quirky, interesting, many-staircased house, with superb access to the lake (across a road). Very friendly owners and local contacts.

The location is great, only a 25 minute walk into Coniston mainly along footpaths. The cottage is clean, well-equipped, quirky and interesting, although the stairs are narrow & steep which may be a problem for some guests. The short walk down to the private jetty was enjoyed frequently!

This beautiful, characterful cottage was ideal for our party of 12 adults although the number of steps proved a bit of a problem for some of our party. The June weather wasn't as bright, sunny and warm as we'd hoped but the cosy spacious reception rooms meant our celebrations were not affected. Well done Jayne Reeve.

Lovely old homely property in a great location. Worked well for our large party with dogs. Great to have en-suites in most rooms and the lovely copper bath was well used! Coniston is a little to far to walk to so a car is essential however the house is in driving distance of Keswick, Ambleside and Grasmere.
