A beautifully finished first-floor apartment, ideal for couples looking to escape and explore the North Lakes with amenities on the doorstep.

Situated in the pretty town of Cockermouth - the birthplace of William Wordsworth - this apartment is the perfect base to explore the northern Lake District and western fells. It has the added benefit of having restaurants and bars within walking distance where you can enjoy a romantic meal or a few drinks out after a day of exploring. The shore path at Bassenthwaite runs the length of the west shore and the open-air theatre at Mirehouse is worth a visit. For something a little different, why not walk an alpaca or abseil 120ft into a disused quarry? A 14-mile drive away is Keswick which hosts the popular Mountain Festival with some world-class sports, outdoor activities, talks and films, with live music.

Accessed from an external staircase, this fully refurbished first-floor apartment is comfortable and welcoming. As you enter the apartment from the hallway, you will find a spacious lounge with a Smart TV. After a busy day exploring the area, you can look forward to getting cosy on the comfy corner sofa whilst enjoying your favourite film or reading a good book by the flame-effect electric fire. Just opposite the lounge is the double bedroom which offers a peaceful and calm space to switch off for the evening. Further along the hallway, you will find the stylish kitchen which is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Rustle up a homecooked meal or enjoy a leisurely takeaway at the dining table where you can plan your adventures to come. To complete the property there is a spacious bathroom with a bath to soak in after a long walk, a separate shower and WC.

You are just a short walk to the river and park where you will find lots of open space to sit back and relax on a sunny day. There is private parking for one car to the rear of the property and ample, secure storage for bikes.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The apartment was beautiful. It was extremely comfortable & although we didn't do any cooking for the few days we were there the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need. The accommodation was spotless & the position on the main street of Cockermouth was excellent. The restaurants we ate at were all a couple of minutes away & were tRead moreop class. Liz was lovely & even though she lives on site was in no way intrusive. I would recommend this property to family & friends Hide

Had a weeks stay at the property.overall excellent. Liz particularly helpful. Well equipped and good location. Shops, bars, restaurants near by! Map given for car park, bit of a tight squeeze! Flat was right in the centre of Cockermouth with easy access to the nearby shops. Also easy access to the Lakes, with shuttle buses to buttermere and only a 25min drive to Keswick & Derwent.

My partner and I just returned from a 3 night stay at the Daffodil suite. The apartment was beautifully decorated to a high spec, and had everything we needed and more. We particularly liked how some of the original features had been restored and how this added character to the property. Location is perfect as we could walk directly out to the highRead more street which had many bars, restaurants and shops. Our favourite bar was called Koppers, which was dog friendly. Thanks to Liz and Adrian - fabulous Hide

Have just returned from a brilliant weeks' stay at The Wordsworth Mews. A great location in the centre of Cockermouth with plenty of amenities nearby. The flat is done to a very high standard; very comfortable and modern. The only slight negative is that the band playing at The Huntsman pub next door can be heard until quite late on a Saturday nighRead moret (21:00 - 00:30) and Sunday afternoon/evening - not enough to put us off staying here again however. Thanks to Liz & Adrian for a wonderful stay. Hide
