Situated in the pretty town of Cockermouth - the birthplace of William Wordsworth - this apartment is the perfect base to explore the northern Lake District and western fells. It has the added benefit of having restaurants and bars within walking distance where you can enjoy a romantic meal or a few drinks out after a day of exploring. The shore path at Bassenthwaite runs the length of the west shore and the open-air theatre at Mirehouse is worth a visit. For something a little different, why not walk an alpaca or abseil 120ft into a disused quarry? A 14-mile drive away is Keswick which hosts the popular Mountain Festival with some world-class sports, outdoor activities, talks and films, with live music.

Accessed from an external staircase, this fully refurbished first-floor apartment is comfortable and welcoming. As you enter the apartment from the hallway, you will find a spacious lounge with a Smart TV. After a busy day exploring the area, you can look forward to getting cosy on the comfy corner sofa whilst enjoying your favourite film or reading a good book by the flame-effect electric fire. Just opposite the lounge is the double bedroom which offers a peaceful and calm space to switch off for the evening. Further along the hallway, you will find the stylish kitchen which is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Rustle up a homecooked meal or enjoy a leisurely takeaway at the dining table where you can plan your adventures to come. Had a lovely stay at the Daffodil Suite. What a lovely apartment! Clean, fresh, new and had all amenities you need. Cockermouth itself has lots of pubs, restaurants for your relaxation time. Windermere & Bowness only hour & a half away.

Apartment was 10/10 Location of the apartment was fine. Cockermouth the destination wasnt so. We discovered after visiting, this wasnt the greatest of places for a short break for us personally, as we wanted more scenic walks close by with baby. We were hoping a bit of a Keswick feel. Our error. All other needs were met by the location of the apartRead morements. Close to amenities. Etc. Hosts were fantastic, especially Liz. The apartment was like a show home when we walked in, the photos do not do it justice. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Cockermouth with superb local restaurants and bars just two skips away, the best being Aspavas, The Trout and Fermentos. The owner Liz Murphy was extremely helpful and friendly, even letting us know about the local fRead moreacilities before we arrived. Ideally located in Cockermouth with a good selection of pubs and eating establishments and supermarkets within easy walking distances. We absolutely loved our break here. We met the owner too and she was absolutely lovely. The apartment was absolutely stunning. It was fresh and clean and had a really lovely feel. We loved it so much that we only went out for dinner once and opted for takeaways on the other nights! Lovely clean apartment, there are some steps to the property but really not an issue, location is fantastic with restaurants and pubs literally on your doorstep! We loved our week in Cockermouth, great pubs and restaurants, food and hospitality, we would definitely recommend and already thinking of planning a return.

Lovely sized apartment fully equipped and spotlessly clean. Location is great for cafes, bars etc but also for exploring Western lakes. Liz friendly and made it clear if there was anything we had concerned about or needed, just to ring her. I would however just state that if you struggle with steps, this is not the place to stay.

The apartment was spotless and new, the bed was super comfy. The apartment over looks Cockermouth high street but it is so well insulated you dont hear a sound. The town has plenty of shops and eating places so you dont need to drive anywhere after a day of hiking. This was our first visit to the north lakes and we will definitely go back. The apartment is very central in Cockermouth, perfect for exploring the Lake District. It has everything you need for a holiday and is finished to a very high specification. Everywhere was spotless clean and lots of soft think bath towels. As a person holidaying alone I felt very safe. Liz was very helpful, friendly and lived nearby.

Apartment very well equipped and furnished, Liz the host was very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely stay again as it was central for shops and a good selection of restaurants and bars. Some noise from bar next from live music on a Friday night but did not detract from our stay. Good local transport links to Keswick. Highly recommended.

We absolutely loved our stay!!!! The apartment has been beautifully decorated & is so spacious! It was the perfect place to relax after long walks around the lakes. We also loved the apartments central location, surrounded by shops, coffee shops, pubs, and restaurants. You can never get bored! We give our stay a 10/10 & cant wait to return! :-)
