Created with romance in mind, this beautiful former coach house is a hideaway for two that will capture your heart while you relax overlooking the private lake on the Kirkby Hall Estate.

Set within the grounds of the mid-18th century Kirkby Fleetham Hall in the village of Kirkby Fleetham. Within the grounds are a church, a lake and well-kept landscaped gardens and a private woodland which guests are free to roam and perhaps throw a blanket down for a romantic picnic. Walk to the pretty village of Kirkby Fleetham which has a village gastropub. This is a great base, perfect for discovering the glorious countryside of the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors. There are miles of walks and bike trails to explore from the doorstep, including the coast-to-coast walk. Northallerton is the nearest town with its abundance of shops and tea-rooms or head towards Richmond with its cobbled market square, Norman Castle and Easby Abbey and Saturday market with local traders selling local produce.

The property is set within this bucolic setting, surrounded by lush manicured gardens and accessed by a gravel driveway to the private setting. Take the stairs to enter the cottage into this lovingly restored building with its exposed beams, wooden floors, cosy comfortable furnishings and a wonderful airy open-plan arrangement incorporating the lounge/kitchen/diner. A fully equipped kitchen with a central breakfast bar stands in the corner and provides you with all your home comforts to rustle up a hearty meal. Complete with electric hob and oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and coffee machine. Kick back and relax on the comfy sofa, cosy up with someone special and bask in the silence and seclusion of this utterly charming setting or pick a film to watch on the Smart TV. Come bedtime, head up the stairs to your sumptuous bedroom where your king-size bed awaits you for a great nights sleep. An en-suite shower room with a large walk-in shower is the ultimate way to start your day before you head out to explore the countryside.

Guests have access to the phenomenal gardens with manicured lawns, well-stocked borders and a lake. While away the hours with your loved one, throw down a blanket beside the water and watch the wildlife close-up. In addition, there are paddocks and stables for those that have equestrian interests. We enjoyed our week but this was due to location rather than the property which we felt was a little mis-advertised. There is no washing machine and the wifi is very weak - <0.2Mbps (we couldnt use the smart tv as a result). Kitchen is sparsely and cheaply stocked. Welcome pack = 1pt milk! Safety: no firstaid kit or torch. No obvious fire exit. An Read moreumemptied bin, used earbuds & soap, last week's newpapers - owner explained that usual cleaner was not available. Hide

Wonderful spot for being completely chilled. The coach house was great and having relaxed access to the gardens made it a very calming place. Great accommodation for the two of us and highly recommended.

very nice accommodation but lacked all the things above. With the appalling Wi-Fi we felt very vulnerable had there been an emergency

We had a really lovely week in the coach house. Very comfortable with all mod cons. We enjoyed watching rabbits and pheasants in the grounds of the Manor house from the comfort of our sofa, and evening walks around the lake and through the delightful bluebell woods.
