Stunning cottage offering single-storey accommodation for two guests, situated in the grounds of a country house, just a short walk from the banks of Coniston Water.

This property enjoys a tranquil location just across the water from the pretty village of Coniston on Coniston Water. It is just as suited for those who want to relax and unwind as it is for those who want to get out and enjoy the huge choice of outdoor pursuits that are on offer to visitors. There are some fantastic mountain walks to be had nearby, most notably on the trails which lead to the summit of the Old Man of Coniston, with several routes available to suit different levels of fitness, but all of which end with stunning views across the lake and beyond. The village of Coniston in just 1.5 miles around the lake from the cottage and can be reached via a reasonably flat walk, or by car if preferred. In the village, as well as an array of shops, visitors will find a choice of pubs and a popular boating centre from where they can participate in a good range of watersports or a hire a boat for the day.

The heart of this stunning cottage is the open-plan living space comprising a lounge/kitchen/diner. This stylish room has been finished in a contemporary fashion and offers a comfortable lounge area with a large Chesterfield sofa, a warming wood burner, and a Smart TV/DVD, as well as a DAB radio and Bluetooth speaker. The kitchen area is separated from the lounge by a glossy breakfast bar with stool-seating, beyond which guests will find an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer, as well as a host of extras including a slow cooker and a panini griddle. The dual-aspect bedroom is a pretty, light-filled room with a king-size bed and dressing table, next-door to which there is a bathroom with shower over bath and WC.

Opening the French windows from the main living area, guests step out onto a shingled-seating area where they will not only find garden furniture and a BBQ, but also the sumptuous hot tub from where they can enjoy the picturesque views, or perhaps look up at the night sky. Beyond this area there is a generously-sized lawn, whilst, to the front of the cottage there is off-road parking for two cars.

Cosy cottage in a fabulous location. Private hot tub great to sooth away weary walking legs. Only a short walk into Coniston where youll find a couple of great pubs.

Somewhere cottage met all our expectations and more. We had a wonderful week exploring the Lake District, sampling the local cuisine and chilling out in the hot tub which helped to ease any aches and pains !

Absolutely fantastic. If you want a tranquil, relaxing and private 'home from home', this is the place. We loved that it was away from the main town, but close enough to walk to. The garden, the BBQ, the Hot Tub all added to this already superb cottage. It's also lovely to have somewhere to park your car knowing that nobody is going to damage it asRead more it has a private drive way too. We stayed at Somewhere for the sixth time and still absolutely love this little place. There were some issues with the heating and the hot tub, properly handled though. Somewhere is beautifully located in Coniston and very comfortable. Would definitely come back.

We have had another excellent holiday in this cottage. New TV in lounge was a lot better, and so was the TV in the bedroom. Also the Bluetooth speaker was excellent. Oh and the new bed was very comfy. Cottage clean as always.

We really enjoyed our stay at Somewhere Cottage. The location was perfect for us, tranquil setting, yet close enough to walk into Coniston. We were very lucky with the weather as well, and were able to walk or cycle each day from the door. The cottage had everything we needed, very comfortable bed and high quality furnishings. The hot tub was very Read morewelcome at the end of a long days walking or cycling! Also, little touches like the welcome pack and L'occitane toiletries were very special. The only thing we would have found to be useful would have been somewhere secure to store our bikes. That said, we did feel that they were safe locked up round the back. We would love to return and would have no hesitation in reccommending this cottage and Lakeland Cottage company to our friends. Hide

We escaped to Somewhere' for our mini-moon after getting married on the 4thFeb. the cottage has been the perfect base for us and we managed to create the perfect blend of relaxing (the hot tub and fire!) and adventuring (exploring the snow capped Langdale Pikes and conquering Honister's via Ferrata!)
