The little town of Much Wenlock itself provides a slice of rural life with traditional pubs, independent shops, and a quintessentially English high street. Once the home of William Penny Brookes, godfather of the modern Olympic Games, this quirky town boasts an extraordinary amount of British heritage. This beautiful part of Shropshire is renowned for its scenic walking, cycling, riding and birdwatching and with Wenlock Edge on the doorstep and the Shropshire Hills nearby, you will be spoilt for choice. Explore the area’s pretty villages of wonderful Bridgnorth, delightful Church Stretton known as Little Switzerland, medieval Shrewsbury and Ludlow and the famous Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site.

Leave your shoes by the door and step onto the sumptuous carpet which beautifully compliments the cosy lounge. The focal point is the warming wood burner nestled in the charming brick built fireplace so relax on the comfy sofa or arm chair after a day exploring the area and put your feet up in front of the TV. Wandering through to the bright and airy kitchen which offers an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. There is a farmhouse style dining table if you decide to stay home and do a spot of cooking yourself. Just across the courtyard is a handy utility space with washing machine and freezer. Due to the age and character of the property the stairs are very steep but once conquered lead you to a delightful king-size bedroom with a beautiful bed you will find hard to leave in the morning. The dressing room is a perfect space to keep your belongings and enjoy some space to get ready. The stylish shower room boasts a rainfall shower with WC.

Outside is a small courtyard area with bistro table and chairs, a lovely spot for a relaxing coffee in the morning, enjoying the fresh air. Although there is no designated parking, there is ample roadside parking close by, subject to availability.

One of the best small cottages we have stayed in! 10 out of 10. We had a lovely, peaceful relaxing weeks stay in a very cosy idyllic cottage, just a minutes walk from the high street. It was private, very well appointed with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen & utility room. The attention to detail is wonderful and the welcome basketRead more very much appreciated. The kings size bed so comfortable with great quality linen. The log burner made it perfect. We couldnt fault it! Thank you! Hide

short break over a weekend, this cottage is right in town but sooo quiet, all the mod cons with a cottage feel, good size for a one bed. Really convenient for shops, pubs and restaurants, a spit to the ancient church and the priory. You can walk the Edge from the door! Will definitely go back, the owner is so helpful

Lovely little cottage, beautifully furnished, warm and comfortable, easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and pubs. Attractive scenery in surrounding area along with interesting towns and villages not too far away.
