Large one-bedroom apartment tucked away within one of the Cotswolds’ most impressive 17th-century estates, perfect for couples to both relax and explore.

The village of Brockhampton lies in a sheltered valley, high in the Cotswold Hills, yet only 6 miles east of Cheltenham Spa. The apartment provides a rare experience, to be transported into a different time with the added comforts of modern-day living. The ancient Anglo-Saxon town of Winchcombe is 6 miles away with an array of pubs, shops, and tearooms that showcase the history of the area. Just on the edge of Winchcombe, you will find Sudeley Castle, famous for being the location where Katherine Parr is entombed. Broadway is slightly further afield at 13 miles and is certainly worth a visit with its welcoming eateries, boutiques and art galleries.

On arrival at the estate, you will pass through the main gates and be greeted with fantastic views down towards the house, grounds, and lake. Make your way up to the apartment through the large, shared entrance hall which transports you back to the 17th century. As you enter the apartment, there is a spacious hallway and a handy cloakroom with a WC, with plenty of room to store walking boots and outerwear after a busy day of exploring. Step through into the lounge/diner which boasts wonderful views down to the gardens and lake. This light, airy room benefits from fabulous high ceilings and is tastefully decorated for you to be able to relax and unwind. The lounge area is furnished with a comfortable sofa and a chaise lounge to make the most of the views and a wood burner to snuggle up in front of on those cooler evenings. The dining table will seat two and will allow you to eat together in comfort. There is a fully equipped kitchen adjoining the lounge which is separated by a sliding door. The kitchen has everything you need to be able to dine in, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher. Stepping back into the hallway, the master suite is on your right-hand side. There is a fantastic four-poster bed which also enjoys wonderful views of the garden. There is a large wardrobe and additional seating, creating another space to relax. The apartment has a good-sized bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC.

Outside the apartment are extensive, well-maintained shared gardens with multiple areas to sit and enjoy. There is a wonderful lake with a wooden bridge that takes you across and towards the old deer park at the top of the estate. The care that has been taken to maintain this fantastic house and gardens is evident throughout, and sure to be a highlight of your stay.

This is a unique apartment, but it does come with some quirks. We had a couple of issues that were dealt with efficiently during our stay.

Such a wonderfull place to come and relax. Nick met us with the keys and was always on hand if you needed any information about the surrounding area etc. We would love to return later on this year. There are so many beautiful places on your doorstep and the week just flew by.
