Just 3 miles from the cottage is the village of Staveley, which boasts typical Lakeland stone buildings, the Rivers Kent and Gowan, a beautiful church, and a selection of shops and inns. Also, within easy reach is iconic Windermere, with its literary history, bustling centre, and beautiful lake, while Kendal offers larger stores, supermarkets, art galleries, a theatre, and cinema.
This delightful, detached cottage is one of two properties huddled in this peaceful valley location. Leave muddy boots and coats in the snug area at the door before continuing through to the farmhouse-style kitchen complete with a dining table, AGA-style oven and hob and quirky vintage touches, this is a charming room for enjoying candle-lit suppers. After meals, step to the inviting sitting room where an inglenook fireplace with roaring wood burner, stylish sofas, and cosy rugs await with TV. From the small hall, there is the pantry with plenty of space for your food and also a fridge/freezer. Next is the snug which is the ideal place to sit back and enjoy a book in one of two armchairs or enjoy the view from the windows. Head up to the first floor where you’ll find the bedroom, which features a king-size bed, and spectacular valley views through a charming sash window. The compact yet stylish bathroom has a bath and WC.
Outside, the communal gardens are rich in colour and scent during spring and summer. Take to one of the wooden benches to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or evening drink with a view.
