Attractive period cottage sleeping two guests, located in the much-loved village of Cartmel offering a choice of well-regarded restaurants and pubs within walking distance, and just 6.5 miles from Lake Windermere.

This property is situated in the picturesque village of Cartmel, which lies between the Lake District National Park and the Morecambe Bay coastline. The village is a popular destination for keen foodies, as it offers a range of well-regarded restaurants, as well as some fantastic independent food shops. The village is also home to an impressive Norman priory, as well as its own racecourse, which holds meets on certain bank holiday weekends and hosts a range of other events throughout the year. There are some fantastic walks to be enjoyed around the village, including one up to Hampsfell from where walkers can enjoy panoramic views to Morecambe Bay. Of course, the main draw of the area is the picturesque Lake District, and Lake Windermere lies 6.5 miles from the cottage, offering boat trips, watersports, historic buildings, and scenic lakeside walks.

Entering this property from the street, the first room that guests will come to is the charming lounge/diner, where comfortable chairs give guests space to relax with a film on the TV/DVD There is also the welcome addition of the warming woodburner, perfect for those chillier evenings. The dining table is tucked away in the corner of the room, next to which a door leads through to the kitchen, where guest will find everything they need to make themselves at home including an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. The bedroom and bathroom, meanwhile, can be found on the first floor of the cottage, with the bedroom offering a comfy king-size bed and a sweet window seat. Next to the bedroom the bathroom has a shower over bath and WC.

There is a small, yet attractive, patio garden to the rear of the property, which is accessed through the kitchen, for which garden furniture is provided. At the opposite side of the patio to the house, the addition of a delightful summerhouse means that guests can enjoy the garden all year round. There is roadside parking available opposite the cottage, and further parking available in the village, for which a permit for one vehicle is provided.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Please note there is a refundable £100 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

A great location in a lovely village next to the Priory. A good choice of different places to eat and drink plus a variety of interesting shops. Bring a torch if you want to go out in the dark - theres no street lighting in the village.The cottage needs a bit of TLC in some areas but has everything you need for a short stay.

Fantastic location with only one minute walk to everything in Cartmel. Very well equipped kitchen, contemporary bathroom with heated floor. Seeing the sheep in the field from the bedroom was great. Dog friendly - our Cocker Spaniel loved it. Outside space was really good, secluded but useable when the weather permits!

We've had a wonderful relaxing week here in this beautiful cottage. Visited south lakes many times as day trippers but its great to stay in Cartmel and enjoy all the village has to offer. Unsworth's Yard was our favourite with its brewery, cheese shop and wine shop. Enjoyed a lovely sunny afternoon eating and drinking there. Lots of great walks on Read moreyour doorstep. Blackwell House is well worth a visit too. Cant wait to come back! Hide

Had a lovely time in a part of the lakes we were not familiar with. The fact it was hot and sunny enhanced the enjoyment! It was lovely eating outside morning and evening as well as in a couple of local pubs. First visit to Cartmel but wont be our last! Thanks for the bottle of wine on arrival a nice touch!

What a lovely village. Everyone was very friendly. The western lake district scenery is stunning. Holker Hall was so interesting and the gardens are SPECTACULAR! Luckily we had good weather. We drove up to Whitehaven. The countryside is wonderful. We enjoyed Muncaster Castle and Brantwood (John Ruskins home.) Love the sheep opposite.

Many thanks to a lovely lady from Lakeland Cottage Company who brought us three small saucepans -it made it so much easier self-catering for two.From booking the cottage to moving in everything was easy and straightforward. The cottage was exactly as described. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom/shower very spacious. Cartmel is a lovely villaRead morege and there were plenty of walks from the doorstep with our dog.Plenty of pubs/restaurants in walking distance.All in all a very enjoyable week. Hide
