Attractive period cottage sleeping two guests, located in the much-loved village of Cartmel offering a choice of well-regarded restaurants and pubs within walking distance, and just 6.5 miles from Lake Windermere.

This property is situated in the picturesque village of Cartmel, which lies between the Lake District National Park and the Morecambe Bay coastline. The village is a popular destination for keen foodies, as it offers a range of well-regarded restaurants, as well as some fantastic independent food shops. The village is also home to an impressive Norman priory, as well as its own racecourse, which holds meets on certain bank holiday weekends and hosts a range of other events throughout the year. There are some fantastic walks to be enjoyed around the village, including one up to Hampsfell from where walkers can enjoy panoramic views to Morecambe Bay. Of course, the main draw of the area is the picturesque Lake District, and Lake Windermere lies 6.5 miles from the cottage, offering boat trips, watersports, historic buildings, and scenic lakeside walks.

Entering this property from the street, the first room that guests will come to is the charming lounge/diner, where comfortable chairs give guests space to relax with a film on the TV/DVD There is also the welcome addition of the warming woodburner, perfect for those chillier evenings. The dining table is tucked away in the corner of the room, next to which a door leads through to the kitchen, where guest will find everything they need to make themselves at home including an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. The bedroom and bathroom, meanwhile, can be found on the first floor of the cottage, with the bedroom offering a comfy king-size bed and a sweet window seat. Next to the bedroom the bathroom has a shower over bath and WC.

There is a small, yet attractive, patio garden to the rear of the property, which is accessed through the kitchen, for which garden furniture is provided. At the opposite side of the patio to the house, the addition of a delightful summerhouse means that guests can enjoy the garden all year round. There is roadside parking available opposite the cottage, and further parking available in the village, for which a permit for one vehicle is provided.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The cottage is perfectly placed in the beautiful picturesque village of Cartmel. Its small but perfectly formed and even though it only has two rooms and one bedroom you never feel cramped. Beautiful cottage in lovely position overlooking green field with sheep - lovely and peaceful. Cartmel is an ideal place to stay with shops, pubs, restaurants and tea shops. Would thoroughly recommend it.

Lovely cottage in a perfect location in Cartmel. Although only a one-bedroom all of the rooms are a good size so you do not feel at all cramped. Would definitely return and recommend to others.

Loved our week in this charming cosy cottage. Situated overlooking a field full of sheep and Cartmel Priory, just a short walk into town center. Cartmel is lovely, The Cavendish Arms does great food. Would definitely stay again

Apart from the lack of vacuum cleaner, the cottage was well positioned and within easy walking distance of the village. The kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom was lovely. We enjoyed our stay.

No 3 Church View was the perfect tonic on a very wet weekend. The cottage is in a fabulous location overlooking the magnificent Cartmel Priory and is very cosy. We ate out at the Cavendish Arms which was as ever,excellent and dog friendly and we enjoyed coffee and cake at Cartmel Coffee. Lovely walks in and around the village & great views. Great central location only a short walk into the village and we were able to park outside the property using the permit provided. The cottage itself is cosy but there were a few niggles. The TV:DVD is outdated meaning we had to purchase our own DVD player whilst there.

A lovely cottage in an excellent location. Lounge, kitchen & bathroom had plenty of room for a 2, plus a big Labrador. Contrary to the previous review, the memory foam mattress wasn't to our liking. A few items could do with attention to bring the standard to that reflected by the price. A lovely cosy little cottage in a great location. The lounge area was very comfortable and we took full advantage of the log burning fire during our stay. The kitchen had everything we needed, bathroom was nice (with a hot and powerful shower!) and the bed was very comfortable too! A great location in a lovely village next to the Priory. A good choice of different places to eat and drink plus a variety of interesting shops. Bring a torch if you want to go out in the dark - theres no street lighting in the village.The cottage needs a bit of TLC in some areas but has everything you need for a short stay.
