Ground floor apartment sleeping four guests, situated in a handsome former mill in the eastern region of the picturesque Lake District, just five miles from the shores of Lake Windermere. The lake and its shores are a wonderfully scenic location to enjoy a huge range of outdoor activities a well as a good network of footpaths. Activities range from leisurely boat trips to open-water swimming, fell walking, cycling, canoeing, and sailing. Stepping through the apartment’s private entrance, guests will come first to a garden room which provides them with a lovely place to sit back and enjoy the views across the garden. This room, in turn, leads onto the spacious lounge/diner, an elegantly styled room with two comfortable sofas, a roaring log fire, and TV/DVD. The dining area is situated at the opposite end of the room, and makes the perfect space to enjoy leisurely meals in the evenings. Next to the dining area, the kitchen is well-equipped and offers an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. The apartment has two bedrooms, a double and a twin, both tastefully finished to a high standard. Large well equipped apartment in a complex with other houses and flats. This can be busy at times with other visitors and cars. The garden and river are well cared for. Located in a quiet village with plenty of walks from the house and easy access to south lakes. The fire was a real plus for us, shame no logs were left for the night as described. Our requirement was for a peaceful and restful weekend and it was perfect. Once you found your location it was fine, 5 miles from Kendal and not far to Bowness. We had a lovely stay and everything you required was at the premises.

Our second visit and even more enjoyable than the first. Surberbly equipped and immaculate. Visits to Elterwater (delightful walk), Bowness and Cartmel plus Grange - lovely gardens. Met the owners - a really friendly couple who made us welcome and helped ensure a wonderful weekend. We hope to return.

Very relaxing week - very peaceful location, but only a short drive away from Bowness, Kendal and Lancaster. The guide books were very useful - we particularly enjoyed the Coniston to Tarn Hows walk although the descent by Tom Gill needed some care! Would definitely recommend to friends. Thanks.
