Swalcliffe is one of the smaller Oxfordshire villages that is nestled within the Oxfordshire countryside, the clever mix of thatches complement the honey coloured stone of the cottages with a back drop of breath-taking countryside. This picturesque village is well served with a local village inn supported by the locals. A haven for walkers a wealth of well waymarked footpaths that will guide you across the countryside and the smaller hamlets are easily accessible from the village. The village is well placed to explore the Cotswolds villages and larger town and cities to include Oxford and Stratford upon Avon. You will be spoilt for choice with many National Trust homes and gardens to include Chastleon House and Hidecote Gardens.
Take in the beauty of this terrace of thatched cottages before you step through the traditional front door into the porch where you are invited to leave your walking boots behind. The traditional wooden latch door opens into the lounge/diner a room simply brimming with original features, with traditionally low beamed ceilings, deep window sills and exposed stone inglenook fire place. The cottage is further enhanced with a clever mix of colours and soft furnishings, curl up on the sofa in front of the wood burning stove with friends, or for a simple supper and good wine, a dining table sits to the rear of the room and is set for four. The kitchen is accessed off the dining area, well-equipped with a contemporary twist with an electric oven and hob, fridge with small freezer compartment, dishwasher, washing machine and a coffee machine just perfect for a morning coffee. So, when the day is done open the latch door and climb the cottage style staircase where you will find two bedrooms both beautifully finished. There is a double bedroom with garden views and a further double room with window seat where you can relax with a good book. There is also a shower room with walk in shower and WC finished with products for guests.
Step outside and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening sun, the gardens sit to the rear of the cottage giving open access onto the open fields and countryside. The seating area is secluded at the end of the garden, a perfect place for relaxing with drinks is next to open countryside, fields usually with cows in them.
Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.
