Set in rolling countryside on the edge of the owners' working farm, this beautiful cottage provides the ideal base for families and couples to explore this historic part of West Yorkshire

Nestled in the heart of Lightcliffe, recently made famous by the popular TV show 'Gentleman Jack'. The cottage is ideally situated to explore the history behind the series, situated just down the lane from the graveyard where many of the shows favourite characters are buried. Visit the stunning Shibden Hall, home to Anne Lister, a great day out for all of the family. The local village pub is only a short walk away and, for keen golfers, there are two popular golf courses within easy reach. The area is a paradise for walkers and cyclists off all abilities, with many beautiful tracks and trails straight from the doorstep. For those wanting to venture further afield, the wonderful scenery of the Peak District is only a short drive away, as is the village of Holmfirth with a wealth of cafes and restaurants to explore. For a spot of retail therapy, head to the vibrant cities of Leeds or Manchester, both within easy reach.

On entering this charming cottage, you are greeted by an open-plan kitchen/diner. In keeping with the traditional farmhouse style, it is the perfect space to whip up a home-cooked meal or sit at the dining table and enjoy a glass of wine with loved ones. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer and there is also a separate WC. Moving through to the beautiful lounge with double doors opening up onto the patio area that floods the room with light. This really is the hub of the house and the ideal place to socialise or watch a movie on the Smart TV/DVD with a basic Sky TV package. Upstairs you will find a king-size bedroom with stunning original beams and a bunk bedroom. To complete the property is a bathroom with a bath, separate shower and WC.

Externally is a private enclosed patio area with furniture and BBQ, the ideal place to enjoy al-fresco dining on a Summers' evening. There is off-road parking for two cars.

Gentleman Jack cottage was all we could have wished for in a getaway: Spacious, beautifully designed, very comfortable, peaceful (we loved the cows outside the window) and very cosy. Tucked away on a tiny road, this cottage provided us with a wonderful week in Yorkshire. The owners, Sue and Mark, were incredibly responsive to a couple of minor needRead mores (a tarp for the bikes and instructions for the TV) and the bed is one of the most comfortable we've ever slept in. Lovely cottage and great location for many places to visit. Easy to find and very comfortable. We were delighted to have a basket of goodies to enjoy when we arrived. There was plenty to do we could easily have stayed more than the week that we booked.
