Relax and take some time out at this stylish holiday home, set up for discerning couples looking to get away from it all. Beach lovers will enjoy Saunton, Croyde, Woolacombe and Westward Ho!, all are just a short drive. Take advantage of superb walking on Exmoor National Park, the South West Coast Path and the Tarka Trail close by. The nearby town of Barnstaple offers a weekly Pannier Market, and many high street brands. The little white town of Bideford is also worth a visit - hop on the Oldenburg and enjoy a boat trip to Lundy Island. Other attractions accessible from here include The Big Sheep and The Milky Way adventure parks, Tapeley Park, Arlington Court and Dartington Crystal.

Stepping into this elegant, single-storey property you cannot help but be bowled over by the attention to detail and design, as well as the ingenious use of space. A hand-built, bespoke open-plan oak kitchen with electric oven and hob, vintage-style Smeg fridge/freezer, and dishwasher make for a stylish space. The lounge and dining area with its Harris tweed sofa and repurposed workbench dining table are made for relaxing and romantic evenings, where you can open the bi-fold doors and enjoy the undisturbed countryside leading out beyond the decking. Completing the accommodation is the bedroom area with impressive king-size bed and stylish en-suite bathroom with shower over the freestanding copper bath, vintage reclaimed sink and WC.

Heading outside, the enclosed and private decking area has beautiful garden furniture, including deck chairs to allow al fresco dining and a private cedar hot tub. The little details such as the vintage hooks to keep a towel or dressing gown next to the hot tub, and the handcrafted pieces throughout the property makes for a truly beautiful and bespoke stay in the countryside.

Private off-road parking is available on the driveway for one car and additional roadside parking can be found outside.

Exactly as described, lovely location, close to most things that you may want to see or do. It was lovely to hear all the owls at night and see the squirrels running about during the day. Perfect place out in the country. We left incredibly relaxed.

Amazing weekend. Property was clean and open for us on arrival. Hot tub was clean and ready to jump into. Bathroom was clean and lovely. The only negatives were that the hot tub isnt completely private but placing the cover against the fencing you can create a small privacy screen. The living area also didnt have a curtain but we soon got used to iRead moret. Cant fault anything else. Again the property is fabulous inside and the hot tub was great with jets and lights! If you are looking for a luxurious rustic Lodge with lots of beautiful places to explore near by we couldn't recommend Bydown Lodge enough! The Lodge is beautifully decorated and we had such a lovely stay there. Owners are welcoming and friendly and we highly recommend! Our pup even loved it too!

The property is nicely decorated and finished, and feels lovely and cosy. Perfect for 2. The fully enclosed deck is perfect if you're bringing a dog, and quite rare to find in holiday rentals. Stunning location. Beautiful lodge, so lovely and quiet. We had a really comfortable stay and would 100% recommend to others. The local pub The Jack Russell did great food and our dog was made very welcome.

Bydown lodge is set in a stunning location with some fabulous views and great walks. Outside has nowhere comfy to sit only bar stools so we sat on the floor.PIR light kept coming on at night and waking us up as there are no blinds to most of the windows. The bathroom/ toilet only has a saloon door which might not suit if you like your privacy. EngiRead moreneer came at 6:30 at night while we were about to eat to fix the boiler which if you run at night is quite noisy. Have stayed in better for less money Hide

We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is lovely and cosy and we couldn't have asked for much more. The hosts' Nick and Jen are really nice and very accomodating for any questions or requests we had, very easy to get in touch with.

Beautiful quiet location but not far from great beaches and other attractions. Surrounded by countryside for dog walks if you do not want to venture far. We booked this for our first wedding anniversary and we would highly recommend it as the perfect romantic getaway!

We visited in November 2021 for 7 nights and had a wonderful time. The lodge is a perfect base to explore North Devon from and thats exactly what we did. We had a very relaxing time at Bydown Lodge, its very cosy quirky and the got tub was perfect. We had a small issue with the hot water, but Nick was super helpful and had it fixed very quick. So the hosts where great! Great little find!

Lovely lodge in beautiful and peaceful location. Ideal for recharging your batteries. Decor and facilities felt luxurious, with the hot tub, the roll top bath and Smeg appliances. What an amazing lodge!!! Funky decor that really felt a notch above other places. Grrat location being half an hour from so many beaches. Beautiful views and a fantastic hot tub! Beautiful setting but beware no local amenities except a pub which do lovely meals, beware closed Mon and Tues and you need to book early if table needed on special offer nights Wednesday and Thursday. Very steep hill up and down to the village!

Lovely place, easy to find. Everything was immaculately clean when we arrived and fresh towels and bed had been put on. The lodge is beautiful and quirky .. visited lots of places , instow was a gorgeous little place and dogs allowed on beach . The only thing I would say is that it wasn't clear that there was no access to any of the gardens until got there, and with 2 dogs was a struggle . Perfect for a couple to get away minus the dogs though !
