While staying in this attractive property, you’re just 3.5 miles from Richmond, a Georgian market town brimming with shops, restaurants and quirky boutiques. Richmond’s former station is now home to a cinema, real ale brewery, ice cream parlour and art gallery. You could visit the 11th-century castle and revel in the fantastic scenery. The River Swale is less than half a mile away from your doorstep, where you take a stroll or stop for a picnic, and Easby Abbey is 2 miles distant.

The barn is crammed full of character from beamed ceilings to cleverly considered space. It encompasses thoughtful luxury touches, creating an unforgettable and unique property with everything you need for a romantic trip away. The open-plan living area incorporates the lounge/kitchen/diner. Prepare a romantic dinner for two in this generously equipped kitchen featuring an induction hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and Nespresso machine, there is also a washing machine and microwave hidden away in the pantry cupboard. Once your delicious meal has been cooked, you can either dine at the breakfast bar or outside on the patio. After dinner, stoke the fire on the double-width wood burner and pick a film to watch on the Smart TV. Venture upstairs to the mezzanine floor and relax into the sumptuous king-size bed. After a restful night's sleep, be refreshed in the rainfall shower ready for another day of adventures or just relax in the luxurious free-standing bath filled with bubbles.

Outside, the cottage is a large patio with wonderful countryside views which can be accessed from the lounge and via a side path. Dine alfresco on the large dining set provided while watching the sun go down. Sink into the hot tub which is particularly inviting at night under the star-filled skies or toast marshmallows over the firepit. There is a shared paddock on the owners' grounds that has picnic benches where you can enjoy the surrounding views of the countryside. From the paddock, there is direct access to a public footpath which leads to an old disused railway line. There is off-road parking for two cars.

Lizzy and I had a fabulous 2 week holiday. The standard of the accommodation is the highest we have encountered. Incredibly clean, high quality fittings, comfortable and peaceful, with fantastic views over open fields and distant hills. We holidayed in Sept so didn't need the inside fire, nor outside firepit, but instead spent evenings star gazing Read morefrom the hot tub. Local shopping is easy, and we could rapidly get to multiple villages and market towns, dales, waterfalls and visitor attractions. Great situation and high quality accommodation for two. Every household requirement was catered for, and fixtures and fittings were brand new, high quality and tastefully co-ordinated. A really relaxing place to stay. Highly reccomended. Hide
