Set within the heart of the small Cotswold Village of Beverston, this traditional cottage with a contemporary twist is simply perfect for couples wanting to get away and enjoy the South Cotswolds.

The village of Beverston is situated just a short distance from the vibrant market town of Tetbury. You can enjoy beautiful walks from the cottage; amble over to Chavenage House (2.5 miles) which backs on to the Beverston Castle Estate for breakfast or lunch at The Wild Carrot. Tetbury offers a plethora of antique shops, plus the iconic 17th-century Market House. Nearby is the National Arboretum (5 miles) at Westonbirt which hosts events from outdoor concerts to winter wonderlands. Cotswold Water Park (10 miles) offers a wide range of nature activities and water sports. The famous Wildfowl and Wetlands site at Slimbridge (15 miles) is also within easy reach, as are Highgrove House (2 miles) and Gatcombe Park (5 miles). There are many events locally throughout the year, including the Cheltenham Gold Cup, Cirencester Polo and Badminton Horse Trials.

Step into the lovingly restored cottage through the front door, into the hallway, which leads to a spacious panelled sitting room with a dining table and large Camerich sofa. It is a light, bright room, with a wood burner in an original stone fireplace for cosy winter evenings and wood flooring throughout, opening up to the well-equipped white Shaker kitchen which includes an electric oven and induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The kitchen overlooks the garden to the rear of the cottage. There is also a shower room on the ground floor, plus a utility area with a washing machine. Climb the stairs to a large, panelled bedroom with a king-size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and hairdryer. There is a bathroom here with a stunning large bath and a wide basin perfect for two; there is a separate toilet with basin.

French doors open on to a small terrace area and private secluded rear garden, which has a table and chairs. There is off-road parking for one car.

Whilst overall the cottage was lovely it was not "luxury" status. The shower was terrible. Fittings and furnishings were acceptable (not exceptional). A massive issue was the busy, noisy road outside which is difficult to do anything about. We feel we paid twice what we should've for this cottage. We still very much enjoyed the Cotswolds and local Read morerestaurants however. Hide

Stylish cottage in a glorious part of the country - we absolutely fell in love with the Cotswolds! Comfy bed, fabulous bath, all very tastefully done, and lovely outside space too. Beautiful gardens/fields around - worth saying the cottage is on the corner with a main road so there is some traffic noise, but not intrusively. NB Although the cottageRead more is called 'Beverston Cottage' on this site, it's confusingly *not* the one called Beverston Cottage in the village....! Gorgeous stay, thank you :-) Hide

The cottage is beautiful. We enjoyed walks along the footpaths starting straight at the cottage - Tetbury/wild carrot/arboretum. A great disappointment was the traffic noise - the A4135 is a very busy road next to the cottage. Sitting in the lovely garden was not that enjoyable except on weekends. The "fenced" garden was not safe for our poodle becRead moreause the wall around the garden is very low. She jumped onto it and crossed the dangerous road to get near the sheep on the other side of the road Hide

Billed as 5 star but in our view fell short of that standard. Too many spiders for us. We were surprised they were not removed during cleaning prior to our arrival. A vacuum cleaner would be useful. The fridge freezer was extremely small inadequate for our self-catering needs. Lovely sunny garden (albeit alongside a fairly busy road). The seating Read morearea would benefit from cushions for the outdoor chairs & a parasol. In a lovely area of the country, a visit to Westonbirt is recommended. Hide

Beautiful cottage, great walks around the area and very close to Tetbury village. Cottage on two floors with enclosed private garden. Weve had a very pleasant stay in a lovely cottage, especially well located near by the beautiful Tetbury town. The place is the perfect base camp to discover the amazing beauty of the Cotswolds, and the kindliness of the people.
