Nestled within the peaceful backwaters of Longborough, with an unusual style that’s further complimented by the owners stylish interior and furnishings, just perfect for a weekend away in the Cotswolds.

This quintessential Cotswold dormer cottage nestles into a hillside and enjoys panoramic views across the sweeping hills and valleys of the North Cotswolds. The renowned Longborough Festival Opera is situated virtually underneath the stepped terrace of the bottom of the garden. Just a stones' throw away are Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold, with Lower Slaughter, Broadway, Chipping Campden, Bourton-on-the-Water and Burford all close by. Further afield are the historic towns of Stratford-upon-Avon, Shakespeare’s birth place, and Cheltenham, home to the literature and food festival and Horse racing. More local attractions include Chastleton House and Gardens, Hidcote Manor, Daylesford Organic farm shop and Batsford Arboretum.

Take in the charm of this traditional Cotswold stone cottage, renovated with a contemporary twist on the traditional. The entrance being the perfect place to leave your walking boots behind you as you step into the cosy lounge where the warming wood burner will entice you to sit back and relax amongst the tasteful soft furnishings that blend simply with the rustic charm. A particularly seductive feature is that the ground floor is split-level, with a stunning sight-line created via steps leading up from the lounge to the dining room which is just perfect for a supper for two if you choose to stay in,(also located in this room is a fridge, freezer and washing machine). The small kitchen is bespoke in style and equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge and microwave. And when the day is done climb the stairs to the double bedroom fit for a king – the vaulted ceilings with exposed beams and exposed filament Edison style lights are the perfect back drop for a super relaxed nights sleep. The luxurious bathroom with rainfall shower over bath is located off the bedroom.

Head into the enclosed garden from pretty sleeper steps up from the lounge -the natural garden has a wild bohemian feel to it and is a perfect sun trap to while away the afternoon with a good book, or perhaps light the barbecue and cook for friends. And on summer evenings sit back and listen to wafts of the Longborough Festival Opera that is just across the way. Follow the winding pathway with wonderful views that leads down to a gate within a high wall and the village beyond. This takes you down to the village shop, the archetypal Cotswold village green with its pub and church. There is also off road parking for two cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Beautiful cosy cottage in an amazing location, the village pub was lovely and dog friendly, it was central to all of the villages and places we wanted to go like stow and the wildlife park. We cant wait to go back :)

Extremely cosy and comfortable, especially with the log fire burning. This was our second visit to the cottage within a year, and we will almost certainly be back a third time.

We loved the quirky cottage layout and open fire made it very cosy. The location was super (and idilic) with plenty of walks from the doorstep along with a great local pub (they served the best steaks!) and a local shop for essentials. We had a super time and look forward to coming back very soon!

This was a great and homely cottage in a perfect location, particularly if you want to explore the Cotswolds on foot. The accommodation was great although a few things could be refreshed to make it a 5* cottage (e.g cheese grater and cafetire to be provided) which wouldnt be a problem if you were only staying 1 night, & a refresh of the bathroom ThRead moree bread & milk on arrival was very much appreciated but we were disappointed that there was no Prosecco which other reciewers have received.
