If you are not busy exploring the Lakes or the coast, you can spend many hours in the town, shopping, enjoying walks, visiting art galleries, discovering Wordsworth's legacy or enjoying a nice meal. The town hosts many festivals and events throughout the year. The well-known Kirkgate Arts Centre is just 100 metres away, with cinema, live music and theatre throughout the year. Keswick is only 13 miles away and Bassenthwaite, Loweswater, Crummock, Derwentwater and Buttermere are all within 14 miles. Whether you plan to hike up the fells, have a gentle walk around the lakes or partake in some water or extreme sports, there is something for everyone. And of course, there is always a cosy pub at the end of every activity!
This spacious house is named after the owner's grandfather who had a haberdashery business on Market Place and whose family lived on Market Street over 75 years ago. It is tucked away behind Market Place and Kirkgate and just off Main Street. It offers a comfortable stay for couples and is well-equipped throughout. As you walk into the property, you will find a small porch area with coat and shoe storage leading into a bright welcoming lounge/diner. There is a Smart TV and open fire to curl up in front of after a day out exploring. The beautiful kitchen is fully equipped including a Ninja air fryer and a Magimix coffee pod machine. If you are not tempted by Cockermouth's many pubs and restaurants, you have everything you need to dine at home in style. Up the stairs from the kitchen on the first floor, there is a bright king-size bedroom, a contemporary bathroom with a free-standing bath and a separate shower. There is also a dedicated office corner for those who want to work in this home from home.
There is a small front outside space with a bench where you can enjoy a morning coffee and watch the world go by.
