Sitting in an area of outstanding beauty, and enjoying elevated views, this lovely property is the perfect retreat for four people. With a blended offering of vibrant places and decadent walks, there is so much to explore on your doorstep such as Lea Rhododendron Gardens in springtime (1.1 miles), and the war memorial known as Crich Stand (3.5 miles). Just 3 miles away is the Great British Car Journey, where car lovers can explore the history of some of the greatest cars made, and on the same site, the White Peak Distillery offers pre-booked tasting experiences. Vibrant Matlock Bath, with its cable cars, lovers walk, arcades and Gulliver’s Kingdom is a little over 4 miles away. There are unique and independent shops just a little further down Dale Road into Matlock, and plenty of places to eat and enjoy. Beautiful walks are abundant in this area, from circular walks around Riber Castle, Lumsdale Valley Loop, or why not have a peaceful stroll by Cromford Canal.

They often say that the kitchen is the heart of the home, and as you enter the kitchen and dining space, you will see that this is a wonderful space to gather. There are little nods to the history of the building, with a wonderful set of keys hanging at the window. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of storage and a lovely island to create more worktop space. The living room is a beautifully light room, with the benefit of patio doors so you can fully appreciate the wonderful views that this property has. A wood burner makes for a cosy and ambient evening on cooler nights, and there are lovely colour accents to compliment the incredibly fresh and wonderful décor. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one offering a king-size bedroom and the other a double bed. Handmade oak bed frames make for an impressive sight, and the mattresses offer the ultimate comfort. Each room is beautifully light, with lovely colour accents. The shower room completes the property. From the landing, you can see the childhood home of Florence Nightingale, and truly appreciate the wonderful setting that this lovely property sits in.

Outside on the patio, you can enjoy the scenic space, with an outside dining area providing the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee, or relax after a day’s exploring.

One of the most beautiful locations weve ever stayed. Stunning views from a beautiful cottage. Well equipped with everything youd possibly need, spotlessly clean and obviously a lot of thought has gone into making this a great holiday home. Will definitely visit again.

An absolute gem of a find and we were lucky enough to be the first guests to stay at the Old Barn. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and had everything you could possible want. The views from every room were the best we have ever had, just stunning. The Old Barn is certainly a holiday home we would love to revisit, maybe for a winter break?
