From your doorstep, you can explore activities such as cycling, trout fishing and horse riding and even walk one of Scotland’s nearby great trails; The Cross Borders Drove Road. The Scottish Borders is also known for its historic castles and ‘big houses’ so if you fancy learning more about the history of this area you can visit Floors Castle & Gardens in Kelso and Abbotsford, The Home of Sir Walter Scott in Melrose both sitting proudly on the banks of the River Tweed and less than 20 miles away. The Kielder Forest (24 miles) is perfect for long strolls with a picnic in the sunshine. For keen golfers, there are local golf clubs in Jedburgh (6 miles) and Minto (2 miles). For a day out Kelso horse races (17 miles), and slightly further afield Edinburgh (50 miles).

Step inside this charming single-level cottage into the vestibule where you will be greeted with a warm and inviting open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining space. After a long day out light up the wood burner and put your feet up on the comfortable sofas and snuggle up with your loved one with a good movie on the Smart TV. There is also a well-appointed kitchen area where you can rustle up a dinner which you can savour at the dining table. You will also find a beautiful chair positioned by the window; perfect for relaxing and reading your favourite book. When you are ready to retire you will find a double bedroom with beautiful interiors and bed linens with a chest of draws and plenty of hanging space. Finally completing the accommodation is the stylish shower room with a shower and WC.

A fantastic cottage, which is really well appointed. The location is great - the perfect base from which to explore The Borders. Warm and cosy, The Old Post Office was a delight to return to after a day out. We particularly appreciated the generous welcome baskets, especially the one for our pooch.
