We loved this cottage - such a joy to wake up to see Kirkcarrion in the morning. Beautiful countryside, dramatic waterfalls (High, Low and Summerhill Forces were practically in spate), and the real joy of Dipper-watching up at Cauldron Snout. We could barely tear ourselves away.

We were delighted by our choice of holiday cottage. It was very comfortable and the view from the front was superb - we could have looked at it all day long! The owners were very helpful, and we had a wonderful fortnight away.

The cottage was full of little treats, ie. Tea, coffee in case you forgot yours, which I did. It was lovely and clean with comfortable beds, lots of towels and bathroom toiletries, plus a stunning view over the reservoir and hill beyond. I would not hesitate to book again.

It was a lovely cottage not just set in beautiful countryside but driving around was a pleasure with miles of almost empty roads. The host Keith and his wife Jane ( the maker of splendid cakes), were friendly and helpful. I can definitely recommend this lovely cottage.
