A couple’s romantic bolthole in a cosy and charming cottage with spiral staircase, positioned in the heart of the countryside making the whole of Cornwall easily accessible

Nestled within a tiny complex of holiday barns, the rural location lends itself well to being a peaceful retreat as well as an ideal location to base yourself for exploring Cornwall from all angles. The central position in the county makes it easy to discover many different areas, going North to Newquay (11 miles) and Perranporth (5 miles), West to Marazion and Penzance (20 miles) South to Falmouth (15 miles), or East to St Austell and fishing villages (15 miles). Each direction offers a different taste of Cornish life and a variety of attractions to explore.

Accessed from the beautifully landscaped garden, this reversed level quirky conversion is a wonderfully cosy couple's bolthole. Step through the stable door into the open-plan kitchen/lounge/diner with vaulted ceilings, deep sills, and a stylish yet sympathetic interior. The kitchen area has an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, coffee machine, fridge/freezer and microwave so create a special romantic meal for two with the Bluetooth speaker playing your favourite songs in the background. Enjoy a lazy breakfast at the dining table or relax after a day out on the comfy sofa and watch the Smart TV with the wood burner crackling away. A spiral staircase leads down to the king-size bedroom with a calming interior, wardrobe, Smart TV, and a stunning en-suite wet room with a shower and WC. There’s also a utility area with a washer/dryer.

The fabulous garden has a variety of shrubs and plants, outdoor seating to dine alfresco in the summer sun, and a charcoal BBQ. There is allocated parking for one car and additional on-site if required.

A lovely homely place to stay in with everything you could want, except maybe an iron, and ironing board would be useful as clothes do get creased in suit cases, but not the end of the world, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Smithy, and it's well located for touring round, and close to a village shop/post office, and a pub also to Truro main towRead moren which has all the popular supermarkets! Beautiful barn conversion, a proper home-from-home experience, comfortable and cozy, plus situated in a convenient location for exploring the area. Would definitely recommend to others, and will return again in the future. Superb

A fabulous welcome hamper was a great start. In an amazing peaceful location it's a home from home you will want for nothing. High quality finish in the beautifully renovated barn. Nicest place I've ever stayed and fantastic hosts. Brilliant is the only way to describe our stay. Thank you

Modern, excellent cleanliness and great appliances. Quiet, relaxed and hidden away but accessible to tourist attractions. Great environment and space to shy away or mix as desired. Well thought out and welcome package very generous. Would definitely recommend and book in the future.

This was by far the best place we have stayed in and the owners had thought of everything. For us it was perfect because it was quiet and there were plenty of walks locally. It was within easy driving distance of Truro, St Mawes and Falmouth. However there are no shops nearby without a drive, so a supermarket delivery is a good option.
