A fine example of quintessential Cotswold living, an eclectic range of antiques and soft furnishings blend beautifully with the original features. Perfect for couples to enjoy a slice of life in the Cotswolds.

Longborough sits within the hillside above the beautiful Evenlode valley just north of Stow-on-the-Wold. This traditional Cotswolds village is peaceful and largely undiscovered with some hidden gems. The village is famous for the opera promenade concerts in the summertime, tearoom and local inn, and to grab a loaf of bread just pop to the community village store. Just a stones' throw away are Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold, with Lower Slaughter, Broadway, Chipping Campden, Bourton-on-the-Water and Burford all close by. Further afield are the historic towns of Stratford-upon-Avon, known as Shakespeare’s birthplace, and Cheltenham, home to the literature and food festival and horse racing. More local attractions include Chastleton House and Gardens, Hidcote Manor, Daylesford Organic farm shop and Batsford Arboretum.

The peaceful high street of traditional Cotswold stone buildings is the backdrop for this Grade II listed detached cottage. Step back in time through the heavy wooden door into the lounge, a cosy space that’s been finished with tasteful soft furnishings and warmed by a wood burner. For dining continue through the cottage where you can take a seat at the solid wooden table and enjoy a simple supper of local produce. The kitchen is to the rear of the cottage, finished with a more contemporary style and well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, and washing machine. There is access to the rear of the cottage which is a great place for muddy boots. The stairs are accessed via a small wooden door in the lounge, they are cottage style and aided with a rope. Off the landing, there is a double bedroom with vaulted ceilings and exposed beams, and a double bed dressed with natural linens. There’s also a bathroom where you can relax in the free-standing clawfoot bath, and there is a separate shower and WC.

The gardens are to the rear of the cottage and immediately from the side door there is a small, gravelled area with table and chairs, perfect for dining along with a further enclosed area edged with mature hedgerows.

Very cosy and great to have the log burner in use . Very quirky cottage for those that like old style buildings. Longborough is a beautiful quiet tiny village . Fantastic base in which to walk or visit the surrounding busier Cotswold villages.
