The village is a popular destination for keen foodies, as it offers a range of well-regarded restaurants, as well as some fantastic independent food shops. The village is also home to an impressive Norman priory, as well as its own racecourse, which holds meets on certain bank holiday weekends and hosts a range of other events throughout the year. There are some fantastic walks to be enjoyed around the village, including one up to Hampsfell from where walkers can enjoy panoramic views to Morecambe Bay. Of course, the main draw of the area is the picturesque Lake District, and Lake Windermere lies 6.5 miles from the cottage, offering boat trips, watersports, historic buildings, and scenic lakeside walks.
Entering this property from the street, the first room that guests will come to is the charming lounge/diner, where comfortable chairs give guests space to relax with a film on the TV/DVD There is also the welcome addition of the warming woodburner, perfect for those chillier evenings. The dining table is tucked away in the corner of the room, next to which a door leads through to the kitchen, where guest will find everything they need to make themselves at home including an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. The bedroom and bathroom, meanwhile, can be found on the first floor of the cottage, with the bedroom offering a comfy king-size bed and a sweet window seat. Next to the bedroom the bathroom has a shower over bath and WC.
There is a small, yet attractive, patio garden to the rear of the property, which is accessed through the kitchen, for which garden furniture is provided. At the opposite side of the patio to the house, the addition of a delightful summerhouse means that guests can enjoy the garden all year round.
