Heading north, through the fells of the Lake District National Park, visitors come to the village of Lakeside which sits on the southern shore of Lake Windermere and from where it possible to take a relaxing cruise around the lake, stopping on the way at Bowness or Ambleside, or perhaps combine the trip with a visit to the Lakes Aquarium or on the trains of the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway.
