  • Ideal location for enjoying a romantic couple’s holiday
  • Tranquil location on the southern edge of the Lake District National Park
Property code: LCC32

Period cottage, stylishly updated to provide a beautiful retreat for two guests, situated on the southern edge of the Lake District National Park, only six miles from Lake Windermere.

This property enjoys a quiet location in the village of Lindale, which lies between the coast at Grange-over-Sands, and the picturesque Lake District. In the village itself there is a village shop, as well as a pub, whilst a larger range of shops can be found in Grange-over-Sands, some 2.5 miles away. Heading north, through the fells of the Lake District National Park, visitors come to the village of Lakeside which sits on the southern shore of Lake Windermere and from where it possible to take a relaxing cruise around the lake, stopping on the way at Bowness or Ambleside, or perhaps combine the trip with a visit to the Lakes Aquarium or on the trains of the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway.

This property offers a high standard of accommodation throughout and has been thoughtfully styled by an award-winning interior designer, ensuring that the cottage is a true one-off. Stone steps lead up to the front door which opens directly into the lounge area of the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, a wonderfully cosy space where a comfortable sofa and armchair sit under the beamed ceiling next to the warming wood burner. There is a Smart TV, as well as a hi-fi and iPod dock, all of which can be enjoyed from the dining area and kitchen, as well as the lounge. Behind the sofa, a rustic dining table sits between the lounge and the well-equipped kitchen where guests will find an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, and dishwasher. The washer/dryer meanwhile can be found in a separate utility cupboard. Open-tread wooden stairs lead from the kitchen area to the double bedroom on the first floor. This sanctuary-like space has been beautifully finished with loving attention to detail, and has its own TV/DVD, perfect for relaxing with a late-night film. Crossing the landing from the bedroom, a dressing room provides plenty of storage space for clothes, beyond which there is a contemporary shower room with a walk-in shower and WC.

There is small garden to the front of the property with bench seating, and one off-road parking space to the rear.

Lovely cottage, fully equipped with all your needs. Great location, easy to access the lakes with a short drive. The stairs were abit difficult for the dog to navigate though.

The cottage is well equipped with modern appliances. Electric oven took a while to get accustomed to. Stairs are steep and maybe difficult for the older generations. Bathroom is very well sorted.

Beautifully appointed little cottage. Great decor and very good standard of equipment. Lovely log fire and great location for the village pub only a 10 minute walk up the hill. Parking space at the rear is a bonus as its awkward to unload outside in a little village setting. We would book this again without a doubt.
