This property enjoys a tranquil rural location overlooking Cartmel Race Course and enjoying a beautiful view down the valley from the front of the house. Only one mile away, Cartmel village is one of the region’s best-loved villages, offering a fantastic array of highly-regarded restaurants and pubs which has made it somewhat of a destination for keen foodies. 6.5 miles north of the property, the village of Lakeside sits on the southern shore of Lake Windermere, from where visitors can take a ferry to nearby Fell Foot, or enjoy a longer cruise to Waterhead or Bowness. It is also the terminus point for the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, a steam railway which runs via Newby Bridge to the village of Haverthwaite.

Stepping inside this pretty cottage, guests come directly to the open-plan ground-floor accommodation, comprising a lounge/kitchen/diner which has been lovingly finished with individual artistic touches to create a wonderful retreat from the outside world. In the lounge area, there is an inviting sofa from which guests can enjoy the warmth of the cosy wood burner, as well as relax in front of a film on the wall-mounted wide screen TV. A breakfast bar separates the lounge area from the kitchen area, a contemporary space which is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee machine, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. Stairs lead to the first floor where the attractive double bedroom looks out over the racecourse and offers its own TV. The shower room, also on the first floor offers a walk-in shower and WC.

A patio door from the kitchen leads out to the enclosed patio garden to the rear of the property, at the end of which there is a contemporary summerhouse, providing guests with a lovely place to sit and read or enjoy al fresco dining. There is garden furniture provided. Designated parking is provided for one car a short walk from the property.

Amazing place to stay. The cottage was well equipped and very clean. We was greeted with gifts in a basket upon arrival which was a nice touch! The location of the cottage provides an amazing view. An overall perfect holiday.

The cottage was execeptional with all the mod cons you could ask for. Nice welcome gift as well as milk left for us. Comfortable lounge area with log burner which gives off lots of heat. Shower room was lovely. Bedroom a nice size with great views towards Cartmel. Parking space was essential, but would advise on carrying bags from the parking spaceRead more as the road is not wide enough to park at the gate to offload and allow other traffic to pass. Easy walk into Cartmel and the pubs and shops. Hide

Lovely, clean and well-equipped cottage in an elevated position above Cartmel racecourse. Good places to eat in the village and surrounding area. Plenty of footpaths around: good walking country. If you want to drive, it is not too far from Ulverston and Barrow (and Windermere). Recommended.

Cottage was excellent. Welcome pack most appreciated. Everything we needed for a relaxing break. Pity about the less than hospitable neighbour next door who took objection to us reversing our car through the gates whilst we loaded before leaving.
