Grizedale Forest is just a few miles south of the village and offers stunning walks, a sculpture trail, fun Segway hire and a Go-Ape climbing centre, which even has a thrilling zip wire, for those feeling brave. Of course, a trip to Lake Windermere is a must, and it is just five miles from the property. This really is a wonderful base from which to enjoy this beautiful region.
Guests access this property via asset of external steps, which lead to the stable-door opening onto the property’s hallway. Through the hallway, guests will come to the welcoming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with some lovely original features, including the exposed stone wall and fireplace which now occupies the cosy wood burner, sitting on a stone hearth. The room is wonderfully relaxing, with leather sofa, Smart TV, and window-side dining table for two. The contemporary kitchen area offers everything that guests will need to prepare their favourite meals, including an electric oven, hob, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. A glass-sided staircase leads up to the romantic bedroom, which has the feeling of a high-quality hotel room, only with more privacy. The bed is a kingsize double, but can be made up as two twins on request. Just across from the bedroom, the sleek bathroom offers a shower over the bath and WC. There is underfloor heating throughout the property.
A parking permit is provided for guests, for use in the village’s main car park for one vehicle.
