Exceptionally finished traditional stone cottage, offering a peaceful getaway which is situated on the riverside in the picturesque Cotswold village of Lower Slaughter.

Thimble Mill has charm and character in abundance! Located in Lower Slaughter, possibly one of the prettiest villages in England the cottage is perfectly placed for exploring the wonder of the Cotswolds, either on foot via the many public paths or by car. Golden Cotswold limestone is an instantly defining feature, but each village has its own identity. You can while away time in the thriving and historic market towns of Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water, Moreton-in-Marsh, Broadway, and many more. An abundance of quintessentially English inns and tea rooms and high-class restaurants mean that you’ll be spoiled for choice and if you enjoy browsing, you’ll adore the huge range of classy independent boutiques, antique shops and eclectic shopping opportunities.

Thimble Mill, just a few steps an attractive water mill boasts luxurious accommodation and will welcome you as soon as you set foot inside. Thick stone walls, exposed beams and deep window sills are just part of the character here. The owners have created an exceptional retreat for two. In the lounge/diner the wood burner set within a huge inglenook fireplace will keep you snug on chillier evenings with the added benefit of underfloor heating on the ground level of the property. Step up into the  attractive country style kitchen has been very well equipped and features a built-in electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Stairs lead you directly up to the romantic double bedroom with en-suite shower room and WC and three steps lead off the bedroom to a stylish bathroom with a Victorian style roll-top bath.

Imagine yourself with a morning coffee or evening glass of wine enjoying the south facing garden which features a patio with seating, and a BBQ for making the most of when the sun shines. This area is fully enclosed if you are bringing your four-legged friends with you.

A lovely cottage beautifully furnished. Good quality linen, towels and a luxurious bath. Lower Slaughter is a popular destination with more visitors than the limited parking can accommodate, it can be challenging to find a parking space. There are lovely walks along the Wardens Way and other local trails.

The only downside was the lack of parking, otherwise we had a wonderful, relaxed break. The cottage was very cosy, kitchen well equipped and the bedroom was like a 5* hotel room. We were lucky with glorious weather and were able to enjoy the walled garden and listen out for many bird visitors. Highly recommended.
