Top tips for planning a luxury escape

Some people think that luxury has to come with a high price tag, but we disagree. Having a bit of luxury is just about having something that you don’t have day to day. That doesn’t mean it has to be overly expensive, it just needs to be different to the norm. Therefore everyone’s slice of luxury will be different; some will crave clean, modern décor, some will want spa features, some want something quirky! So if you’re looking for a luxurious escape, here’s a few ideas that we think will make your trip extra special, as well as some inspiration on where to stay.

Choose your dates

If you pick your dates carefully you can usually get more for your money. Travelling off peak will mean you can get a wider pick of properties and locations so you won’t be limited by availability or cost! It's also worth taking a look at our last-minute breaks if you can go within the next week or two, as there might be a brilliant late deal just waiting to be snapped up!

Set your budget

As we mentioned, luxury doesn’t have to cost the earth, but if you set a budget you’re more likely to stick to it and make better choices on the things that really mean the most to your trip.

Choose your location carefully

There are so many places across the UK that scream luxurious; city living, Cotswold charm, mountainous escapes. But be sure that wherever you choose the location is somewhere you want to see and be, otherwise you may find that someone else’s idea of luxury is your idea of hell.

Find something to admire

Now you know where you want to go, look for somewhere with a view, or at least somewhere nearby where you can go. Remember the goosebumps you got the last time you saw something truly beautiful? That piece of bliss is what you should be aiming for!

Plan the details

If it’s romance you’re seeking, think about bubble baths, rose petals and love ballads. If it’s a girly retreat, think spa treatments, pampering, soothing tones and chocolate. Or, if your idea of luxury is quirky, think of something different, maybe that’s going quad biking, abseiling down a mountain or even sky-diving. Don’t over-plan
