Cosy Unique Holiday cottages
There is something so special about peace and quiet. Ask yourself, when was the last time that all you could hear was bird song and the wind in the trees.
When searching for a holiday the first question many people ask is ‘where to travel?’, but just as important is ‘why do I want to travel?’ and ‘what do I need from the holiday?’ Especially in this climate the answer maybe simply because I need to escape and relax for a while. I’d like to have some time for me, hide in the hills, in a remote location and most importantly, somewhere without phone reception.
Here at Sheepskin we search out remote hideaways, places where you can take yourself away from everything, escape and still have the little luxuries of life.
All of these secluded and unique holiday cottages have fluffy bathrobes, logs for the fires, iPod docking stations and beds made with soft cotton sheets, cosy welsh blankets and generous faux furs. The sofas have extra welsh blankets too, perfect for a snuggle on the sofa after a long walk; so inviting, especially when out of the cottage windows the view is blanketed with snow.
These remote locations are perfect just for two, or small families wishing for a weekend of seclusion.
Manal is a Traditional Welsh Farmhouse that is surrounded by farm fields in its own secluded and tranquil valley. In a truly remote location, at Manal you can really escape for some quality me time or for that special family time.
Lletty is a stand alone house in a clearing on the side of a forested hill with magnificent views of the Black Mountains. Getting to Lletty is part of the adventure, but don’t worry we’ll provide a map of the 2 mile long private, forest track to your luxury retreat.
A secluded location surrounded by wildlife and nature, the house is very comfortable with an unusual blend of rustic and modern. The kitchen is well equipped and is a sociable, open plan space with space for 6 to eat in front of the fire. There is a very large master bedroom with king size bed and en-suite shower on the top floor and a further 2 bedrooms, one double and one twin. All have great mountain views. For anyone wanting guaranteed privacy, this is the perfect house.
Cragside is on the Llyn peninsula near Snowdonia stands alone with fantastic panoramic views across the bay to the mountains. There is a huge Rayburn constantly giving out heat and a log burner which makes the place look and feel really cosy.
Though secluded access is relatively easy, being on a private farm track. Cragside again sleeps up to 4 but many couples have stayed at Cragside so that they can make best use of the secluded location and the great master bedroom with the view of the craggy hill behind. Cragside does have a single bed available in the master room, so can accommodate 5 people in total .
Hilltop is definitely stand alone, we would suggest this is the ultimate rustic mountain bolt hole, far away from anywhere, quirky and cosy inside. In keeping with character of the house the heating is from two very effective log burners, one in the kitchen area and the other in the living room, supplemented by electric heaters in and electric blankets to ensure super warmth even on the coldest of days!
The main draws for Hilltop are the peace and tranquillity, amazing scenery and walks. Another house were the journey is part of the adventure; Hilltop is reached by a rustic track, that ideally needs a 4×4, and certainly no low slung cars would make it. Hilltop sleeps 4 in 2 double bedrooms.
