Snowdonia, situated on the west coast of Britain, is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts with a diverse range of mountain and coastal landscape and natural forest within its vast 838 square miles.

Many visitors stay close to Snowdon, the tallest mountain in Wales, which has some magnificent scenery.  However the park runs along the welsh coastline from the Llŷn Peninsula down the mid-Wales coast with 90 peaks and 100 lakes, valuable sand dune systems and fabulous beaches so there is much more to discover.

Helen’s favourite place is Glyder Fawr whose rocky summit makes an unusual and dramatic foreground to an absolutely breathtaking view across to Snowdon.

Snowdonia is home to world famous festival Llangollen Eisteddfod taking place each July, previous performers have included Pavarotti, Placido Domingo.

Snowdonia has a vast amount of outdoor activities on offer, something for everyone.

  • Fabulous Walking and hiking to suit all abilities, from a stroll to full endurance and everything in between.
  • Walking challenges such as the Welsh 3000s, a 30 mile walk covering 15 mountains over 3000ft (914.4m)!
  • Snowdon Mountain Railway runs to the summit of Snowdon itself, at 3,560f. With stunning scenery and awe-inspiring views it is the perfect way to explore Snowdon if you are feeling less adventurous.
  • Geocaching is a treasure hunt with a high-tech twist played by adventure seekers.
