The Ferry House is a haven in which to relax and recharge: a place to drink in the stunning views, breathe in the crisp, cool air and savour the quiet serenity.
We stayed in a beautiful cottage with its own private beach near Oban and although it rained (a lot), it was absolutely stunning.
One of the most mesmerising sights on Earth is the night sky, you don’t have to venture to the world’s remotest places to experience dark sky oases several national parks offer superb stellar vistas…
The Ferry House reviews
The Ferry House joined Sheepskin in June 2012 after being completely re-built and refurbished by Catherine and Rob, its owners. Brought up in the area Rob has long dreamed of creating a home on the site of the Old Ferry House and now he has fulfilled his dream.
Having stayed there in the peaceful surrounds with fantastic views across Loch Creran and enjoying the comfortable home that they have created in this rugged landscape we think it has been well worth the wait…
Don’t take our word for it though…
“I’m back home again after a fabulous holiday at the Ferry House. I really wanted to thank you for all you have done to help make our week absolutely perfect.
I would like to say that Sheepskin is in a league of its own, way above all the other agencies that I have dealt with in the past.
Sheepskin has such an attention to detail and style, starting with your fantastic website and the way you present your properties, to the personal one-to-one approach you have, to the superb guide book with it’s great layout and design, to the incredible Sheepskin jute bag packed with fabulous goodies, dealing with Sheepskin makes one really feel special. It has been a pleasure to have met such a professional company. I have really appreciated your work.
The Ferry House was just as I had imagined a place of peace and tranquility. Very comfortable in every way and in an ideal location. Secluded but within easy reach of loads of places to visit. As we wrote in the guest book, the Ferry House filled our eyes, our hearts and our souls! We are already thinking of booking it again for next year. Thank you once again.” Alex from Italy
Just wanted to email you to say what a wonderful time we had at the Ferry House. It exceeded all expectations – watching the sun going down from the patio, relaxing in front of the woodstove, the beautiful and comfortable decor and sheepskin bag of goodies!
With many thanks for all the organization and information sent out.
Also a friend had mentioned taking the ferry from Port Appin to Lismore (10 mins) and cycling on the island. There is a fabulous little cafe and heritage centre on the island about 3.5 miles from the ferry.
Another good days walk is to get the ferry from just south of Oban over to the Island of Kerrera and walk the southern route (Castle Gylen). There is a wonderful little tea garden open everyday between Easter and end of September called Kerrera tea garden.
Could spend a lot longer there. September 2014.
