Hafod Glan GwyNear Hay on Wye and Brecon Beacons, Wales Sleeps up to 2Map of all Cottages
Hafod Glan Gwy means summer house by the river, but winter here is special too. The perfect romantic honeymoon retreat, a luxury bolthole or simply a place for peaceful solitude.
“What an idyllic spot..”, “What a stunning retreat, the bed is so comfy, all the essentials…”,”A beautiful location – the sound of the river was lovely.”
Nestled in a bend of the River Wye, the soothing sound of the bubbling water quickly calms the busiest of minds. From dawn chorus to sunset, the full height windows picture frame the ever changing scenery of the river bank, you may even glimpse otters playing in the shallows. This cosy cabin has been thoughtfully designed inside and out with an expertly finished, contemporary interior and a softly lit, private patio area. Lower the bed from the cupboard and it instantly transforms the room into a sumptuous bedroom with a warming log burner at the end of your bed. We think it’s one of our most comfortable beds, difficult to resist on a rainy afternoon.
If Hafod Glan Gwy is booked Cider House is another beautiful sleeps two cottage.

Things you should know
Life here is compact, one-room living, but every space is designed for absolute comfort.
The bed folds down from the cupboard already made, and then easily folds away again when you’re up. We’re told it’s one of our most comfortable beds.
Cooking in the small but thoroughly modern kitchen is with a two-burner ceramic hob and combination microwave oven.
Hafod Glan Gwy is a stone’s throw from the owner’s stunning old mill house, but still enjoys privacy and a distinct sense of seclusion.
Mobiles reception is poor depending on your network, but you can get a signal if you walk 50m up the lane. There are no internet facilities.
Pets unfortunately can’t be accepted at Hafod Glan Gwy.

Hafod Glan Gwy Reviews
Thanks so much for such a wonderful getaway from the Big Smoke and I have to say that everything from booking to the actual stay was absolutely top notch. I have never enjoyed booking somewhere so much which says so much about the layout of your website and then the service, contact etc. until the actual stay was excellent. The 40 page booklet printed on high quality paper and professionally bound was a really nice touch and the quality of the welcome pack was of the highest nature.
The property itself was fantastic and it was so nice to be in such a remote and beautiful location. The cabin was functionable, cosy, well kitted out and within close proximity to local pubs and the beautiful River Wye make Hafod a must visit destination. My only regret was that we did not stay there long enough to make the most of it!
I cannot rate your company any higher and I would be happy for this to be listed on your website. We will be certainly be booking again with your company the next time we need to escape!
“Yes I did pop the question and she said yes!!!
We had a beautiful time thank you , I popped the question by the river on the beach of Hafod and we had 2 swans in the background which made it lovely and then at night we had a lovely meal at Langoed hall.
