Great House even has a heated outdoor swimming pool in the large back garden perfect for your luxury family holiday.

Inside Great House

• Great house is all about indulgence; luxurious and spacious rooms, decadent antique furnishings, a heated swimming pool and our welcome box full of goodies with wine from the owner to welcome you..
• Why have one when you can have two Georgian style and quirky lounges with antique furnishings, one full of books to amuse you for hours
• Great House has been featured in several television documentaries about Welsh history and architecture and when you see inside you will understand why.
• Many original features have been restored and enhanced to make this large house a splendid and comfortable home.
• A magnificent entrance hallway and 18th century sweeping staircase flooded with light from the huge window on the landing.
• You enter the house on the lower ground floor into the open plan kitchen and living area.
• As you would expect in a house this size Great House has a large and well equipped kitchen
• Here in the ‘cellar’ there is also an informal dining table and B&W iPod station to entertain whilst you create your feast
• Perfect for families; there is a TV room off the kitchen/dining room so you can keep an eye on the kids too.  There is a collection of DVDs as Laugharne does not have great TV reception.
• For a special group feast there is a grand dining room that demands dressing for dinner.
• Three huge double bedrooms all en-suite and each full of individual character.
• The bedroom on the first floor has enormous four poster bed and is full of intriguing paintings, with an en suite shower room.
• The two upstairs bedrooms have king size beds and plenty of space with decadent en-suite bathrooms with roll top baths in the centre of the rooms as well as large walk in showers.
• If you want to extend your group you can extend Great House too!  Hidden upstairs the intriguing attic room can comfortably sleep an additional four people, its own cloakroom and its own living room too. This could be a perfect area for the children to hide-away in.
• Great house has a selection of board games to keep the whole family entertained.

Outside Great House

• The front door of Great House dominates the High Street in Laugharne.  The garden is at the rear of the house and has a large lawn and two patio areas so plenty of space for all of you to enjoy the outside space.
• There is even a swimming pool with decking. The pool is heated between 1st April and the end of September – pool towels are supplied between these dates as well.
• Private parking, through the garage inside the grounds, space enough for three cars.

Things you should know

Inside you’re in your own world but outside, Great House faces the street to the front and the garden has houses at the back and to the sides.

Mobile reception is patchy, Orange is best.

There are wireless internet facilities at Great House.

TV reception is not good anywhere in Laugharne, hence the DVD collection at Great House.

Great House has a swimming pool, many fine ornaments & stone steps without a banister from the kitchen.

Pets unfortunately can’t be accepted at Great House.

We know that your perfect break needs time to search and organize, so we do the searching for you and help tailor your stay to what you love to do. We’ll find all of the information you’ll need and include it in your personal, Example tailor-made guide sent to you before you arrive.

When you arrive at our cottages you will find beds made with soft cotton sheets, marshmallow duvets, cosy welsh blankets & generous bedspreads.   Hotel style comforts with sumptuous Sheepskin bathrobes, fluffy cotton towels, an occasional sheepskin rug and B&W iPod docking station so don’t forget your iPod!

We provide all that you need from tea towels, toilet tissue and dishwasher tablets to a generous supply of logs for the log burner and a jute shopping bag (as part of your welcome gift) to take home with you!

With our compliments, for your arrival, there will be a Sheepskin jute bag for you to keep. In the bag you will find; extra virgin olive oil, natural rock salt, fresh black peppercorns, Sheepskin’s own blend roast and ground coffee, tea bags and some tasty treats!

You can also add your own finishing touches by choosing one of our two delicious Tapas selections.  Ordered separately and delivered to your cottage, our tapas are a perfect solution for an informal, delicious meal when you first arrive at the cottage or simply when you don’t want to cook, see our delicatessen page for more details.

As with all of our properties we are as flexible as possible with arrival date and length of stay with a minimum booking of 3 nights.  However during peak holiday times this property is only available for a minimum of 7 night stays.
