Hay on Wye and Hay Festival

Hay on Wye is famous for its book shops and annual festival that grows every year attracting famous literary personalities, politicians and musicians. It’s easy to visit as it has a big car park pretty much in the centre right next to the tourist information centre.

Hay-on-Wye has become world famous for its secondhand and antiquarian bookshops. There are about thirty bookshops in Hay on Wye, some that specialise with others are more general.

Hay also has a traditional market around the town clock every Thursday from 8am until mid afternoon with stalls selling everything from bric-a-brac to fruit and veg.
